A group of Sri Lankans stranded in the Maldives has been repatriated this afternoon (13).

A special flight chartered by the national carrier Sri Lankan Airlines (UL-102) had returned with 179 Sri Lankans aboard.

Most of these returnees were said to be employed in the Indian Ocean archipelago’s tourism industry.

They have been directed to PCR testing upon their arrival at the Mattala International Airport.
