Crime gang member arrested at Maligawatta

A member of an organized crime gang has been arrested at Maligawatta, stated Police Media Division.
According to the Police, the arrestee is an individual named Mohamed Thajudeen Mohamed Shahul Hameed alias ‘Sawanna’.
He is a 52 year old resident of the Katugastota area.
Nearly 6 grams of heroin have also been found on the suspect.
Reportedly, he had been released on bail after having been remanded in connection with a number of crimes including murder, possession of firearms and robbery.
