Fmr Police Spokesman transferred over disciplinary reasons

A group of senior police officers have been transferred with immediate effect on the approval of the National Police Commission.

The transfers have been made based on service requirements, stated Sri Lanka Police.

Accordingly, 08 Deputy Inspector Generals of Police (DIG), a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), a Superintendent of Police (SP) and three Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) have been transferred in this manner.

DIG Ajith Rohana has been appointed as the Police Media Spokesman, in addition to his position as the DIG of the Legal, Discipline and Conduct Range.

In addition, DIG in charge of the Galle District K. N. J. Wedasinghe has been appointed as the Acting DIG of the North Division of the Western Province.

In addition, SSP Jaliya Senaratne, who was the Director and Media Spokesman of the Police Public Relations Division, has been transferred to the Kankesanthurai Division.

Reportedly, the SSP has been appointed as the Personal Assistant to the Senior DIG in charge of the Northern Province due to disciplinary reasons.
