On October 06, the student had visited a private dispensary in Bangadeniya, Chilaw, over a phlegm-condition, and on doctor’s recommendations he had admitted to the Chilaw hospital for a PCR test.

Upon testing positive for the virus, the student has been admitted to the COVID-19 treatment unit of the Chilaw hospital.

Subsequently, 33 persons of 08 families in Welipelessa-Adippala, Arachchikattuwa, including the student’s family and contacts, and the doctor who treated the student have been quarantined and subjected to PCR tests.

The 17 students who attended the tuition class with the student had been directed to remain at their homes.

While the second and the third PCR tests on the student have tested negative, the student and his family are subjected to quarantine further.
