Fort Police inspector contracts COVID-19

An Inspector of Police (IP) attached to the Fort Police Station has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

Reportedly, the IP had been serving in the Western Province Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the police station.

Upon identification, the officer has been admitted to the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) in Angoda.

Eleven officers of the relevant SIU have also been directed for quarantine, stated the Police.
