Travel restrictions imposed on Bangalawatta

Travel restrictions have been issued on the Bangalawatta area in Ranmuthugala, Kadawatha as several coronavirus cases have been reported from the area.

Kadawatha-Mahara Public Health Inspector (PHI) Pradeep Weragala stated that the travel restrictions were imposed at around 7.30 pm last night (20).

Reportedly, 06 positive cases of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, have been detected from the area.

These measures were taken immediately after the detection of the 06 cases, the PHI said.

Weragala stated that PCR tests will be conducted on nearly 200 persons from the area.

Among the new infections are three members of the same family; a fish trader, his wife, and son.
