First contacts of COVID-19 patients to be home-quarantined

The first contacts of COVID-19 patients will be placed under home-quarantine from now on, stated Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.

The decision will be in effect from today (October 26).

As per the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, out of the total 7,872 COVID-19 recorded in the country, 3,923 are currently receiving medical care at selected hospitals islandwide.

In addition, 527 people are under medical supervision at several hospitals over suspicious symptoms.
