Pompeo-Dinesh hold joint press conference after two-way talks

The joint press conference of the United States Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and his Sri Lankan counterpart Dinesh Gunawardena commenced at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a short while ago.

Before the conference, Pompeo sat down with Foreign Minister Gunawardena at the Ministry to commence bilateral talks.

The US Embassy in Sri Lanka stated that the Secretary of State reaffirmed the commitment of the US to a sovereign and secure Sri Lanka.

It further said that the US will continue to cooperate with Sri Lanka on health, humanitarian, and economic issues that ensure sustainable and inclusive growth for all of the island nation’s diverse communities.
