Number of police officers with COVID-19 exceeds 1,000

The number of police officers who have contracted coronavirus has now exceeded 1,000, says the National Operation Centre for Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

A total of 1,039 cases have been identified from the Police Department cluster, said NOCPCO.

Among the infected are 238 members of the Police Special Task Force (STF).

Sri Lanka has so far reported 20,508 cases of COVID-19 infections so far.
