287 new cases of coronavirus confirmed

The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) says that another 287 persons have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

All new cases are close contacts of patients who have previously tested positive for Covid-19.

Accordingly, the total number of cases affiliated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Covid-19 cluster has climbed to 17,265.

This also brings the total number of coronavirus cases reported in the country thus far to 20,795.
