COVID-19 infections within prisons exceed 900

The number of COVID-19 infected persons identified within prisons has exceeded 900, say Commissioner-General of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya.

Reportedly, 87 new infections have been identified within the sub-cluster.

Accordingly, a total of 908 COVID-19 infections have been identified so far.

Among the infected individuals are 52 prison officials.

However, 113 detainees and 04 officers have already recovered from the virus, the Commissioner-General added.
