This likely to move nearly westwards to the North coast of Sri Lanka and it will affect the weather over the island and surrounding sea areas during next few days, the Department said.

Fairly heavy falls about 50 mm are likely at some places.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
