Dengue Prevention Assistants have been deployed to ensure continuous operation of COVID-19 prevention measures in the Beruwala and Kalutara Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Divisions.

All Public Health Inspectors (PHI) of the Beruwala and Kalutara MOH Divisions have launched a trade union action and withdrawn from operations.

The Dengue Prevention Assistants will handle the quarantining of COVID-19 patients and other COVID-19 related activities in the assigned areas.

Commenting on the matter, the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) of Beruwala, Waruna Seneviratne, said that PCR tests are carried out with the assistance of doctors and nurses.

Accordingly, the COVID-19 control activities in the Beruwala area are carried out with success, he added.
