Travel restrictions for two areas in Weeraketiya

Regional health authorities have imposed travel restrictions on Yakgasmulla and Mullegoda areas in Weeraketiya with effect from this afternoon (January 02).

The move came after 17 positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in random PCR tests carried out in Yakgasmulla area.

According to the police, the two villages in question are home to nearly 1,300 residents.
