Train derails on upcountry railway line

A freight train running on the upcountry line has derailed between Uduwara and Demodara railway stations.
The train had been heading to Kandy from Badulla when it derailed at around 5.45 am this morning (January 22).
According to reports, the Podi Menike train was delayed owing to the situation.
