1,406 arrested in special operation yesterday

A total of 1,406 individuals have been arrested in a special operation carried out within the Western Province yesterday (February 07).

The operation by the Sri Lanka Police has been carried from 06.00 am in the morning until 04.00 pm in the afternoon, yesterday.

Among the arrestees, 681 have been persons on which arrest warrants had been issued.

Reportedly, 44 have been arrested for various crimes.
