Coronavirus death count at 507

Sri Lanka has reported 05 more coronavirus-related deaths, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed today (March 08).

 

As per the Department of Government Information, one male patient and four female patients are among the victims.

 

The new deaths bring the number of COVID-19 related deaths witnessed in Sri Lanka to 507 in total.

 

01. The deceased is a 72-year-old female resident from Anuradhapura. She died on 20.02.2021while undergoing treatments at Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura.  The cause of death is mentioned as Covid-19 pneumonia, asthma, high blood pressure, and acute diabetes.

 

02. The deceased is a 19-year-old female from Hemmathagama. She died on 06.03.2021 while undergoing treatments at Kandy General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid-19 pneumonia and a tumor.

 

03. The deceased is a 51-year-old female resident from Darga Town. She was diagnosed as infected with the Covid-19 virus and transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to Kothalawala Defense Hospital where she died on 08.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid-19 pneumonia and multiple organs dysfunction.

 

04. The deceased is a 78-year-old male resident from Colombo 06. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid-19 while undergoing treatments at a private hospital in Colombo and transferred to IDH hospital where he died on 07.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as a shock due to blood poisoning, acute kidney damage, Covid-19 pneumonia, and acute diabetes.

 

05. The deceased is a 59-year-old female resident from Ja-Ela. She was diagnosed as infected with the Covid-19 virus while undergoing treatments at General  Hospital Colombo and transferred to Base Hospital Homagama where she died on 08.03.2021 The cause of death is mentioned as Covid-19 pneumonia.
