Two more coronavirus fatalities

Sri Lanka has reported 02 more coronavirus-related deaths, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed today (March 31).

The new deaths bring the number of COVID-19 related deaths witnessed in Sri Lanka to 568 in total.

01. The deceased is an 85-year-old female resident from Wattala. She was diagnosed as infected with the Covid-19 virus while undergoing treatments at a private hospital in Colombo and transferred to IDH Hospital where she died on 31.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as septic shock, acute kidney injury, high blood pressure, and Covid-19 pneumonia.

02. The deceased is a 74-year-old male resident from Eravur in Batticaloa.  He was diagnosed as infected with the Covid-19 virus while undergoing treatments at Teaching Hospital Batticaloa and transferred to Base  Hospital Welikanda. where he died on 31.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as septic shock, acute kidney injury, and Covid-19  pneumonia.
