Legal action against propagating fake news online

The government has decided to amend the Penal Code to enforce the law against those who spread false propaganda on the internet.

Minister of Public Security Sarath Weerasekara stated that he looks forward to amending the existing law in this regard and take legal action against the persons concerned.

Minister Weerasekara mentioned this in response to a question raised by journalists after a function held in Mulleriyawa.
