Sri Lanka’s Covid-19 cases tally hits 97,000

The Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry says that another 204 persons have tested positive for the novel coronavirus today.

All new cases are associated with the Peliyagoda Covid-19 cluster.

This brings the tally of confirmed cases of Covid-19 reported in the country to 97,000.

Meanwhile the total number of cases associated with the Minuwangoda, Peliyagoda and prisons clusters is 91,547.

Total Covid-19 recoveries in the country currently stands at 93,113 while 3,008 patients infected with the virus are currently under treatment.

The death toll due to the virus in Sri Lanka is 618.
