VIDEO: Govt. regrets Silva’s political prisoner comment

The Government regrets the statement made by former Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva regarding the arrest of Rtd. Gen. Sarath Fonseka, Former MP Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said today. He added that citizens should refrain from expressing views on an ongoing court case.

 

 

Sarath N. Silva speaking to reporters yesterday claimed that Fonseka is a political prisoner adding that he is being denied the very liberty that he got for us.

 

 

Lakshman said that the matter should be left to the court to decide.
