Petition against Fonseka for Contempt of Court

March 8, 2010   01:48 pm

A petition has been filed by Retired Major W.M.S. Palipana in the Supreme Court against Rtd. Gen. Sarath Fonseka for contempt of court. The petition claims that when Palipana was asked to retire on health grounds on March 1, 2006 Fonseka promised the Supreme Court that a full salary would be paid to him.

The petition however claims that during the tenure of Fonseka the full salary was not paid as agreed upon in court.
