Mahara Prison guard busted with heroin packets

A prison guard attached to Mahara Prison has been taken into custody while in possession of 96 packets of heroin, Commissioner of Prisons Chandana Ekanayake said.
According to the Prisons Spokesman, the suspect was busted by the Mahara Prison officials who searched him at the entrance.
He has since been suspended from service, Mr Ekanayake stated, adding that the police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
