Brother-in-law of ‘Ran Malli’ arrested with buried cash

A male identified as the brother-in-law of the underworld figure ‘Ran Malli’ has been arrested in Pannipitya with a large stock of cash.

Reportedly, cash amounting to over Rs 13.9 million had been found buried inside a house in the Hiripitiya area in Kottawa.

It is suspected that he must have been hiding the money earned through the drug trafficking activities of ‘Ran Malli’.

Underworld figure Charith Sandakelum alias ‘Ran Malli’, who is also an associate of ‘Harak Kata’, is currently residing in Dubai evading arrest.

The seized suspect and the drugs have been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau.
