All non-degradable lunch sheets banned from August

The government has imposed a ban on non-degradable lunch sheets, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said.

The decision will be in effect from the 01st of August 2021.

Accordingly, the sale or use of all types of lunch sheets that are non-degradable will be banned in the country.

The Minister of Agriculture mentioned this at a press conference held in Colombo today (July 28).
