The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court has given the nod to bury 40 unidentified bodies lying at National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL) in Colombo since 2017.

The permission was granted after taking into consideration the submissions presented by Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris based on a request made by the Borella Police.

The court has ordered to obtain DNA samples from the relevant bodies and to bury them in the area of Oddamavadi in Batticaloa following necessary legal procedures.
