Several houses within the Vanarajah Plantations at Dikoya have been damaged due to the heavy downpour experienced in the Nuwara Eliya area, reports the Adaderana correspondent.

Reports state that early this morning (March 27) five houses within this plantation have collapsed due to the heavy rains in the area and 37 persons have been displaced. They have been temporarily accommodated in a tea leaf collection centre of the estate.

Nuwara Eliya District Secretary D.P.G. Kumarasiri has instructed the officials to provide the displaced persons with two weeks of dried rations.
