UNF’s Kindelpitiya remanded

United National Front (UNF) Colombodistrict candidate Susil Kindelpitiya has been remanded till April 16 by the Colombo magistrate’s court, says police spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody.

 

Susil Kindelpitiya, a former New Director of a television channel and who relinquished his post to contest the upcoming general elections has been accused of illegally possessing a weapon, abducting a female and arbitrarily detaining her and also for giving refuge to a Navy deserter.

 

Mr. Kindelpitiya was arrested by Mirihana Police yesterday (April 2) on a complaint lodge by a female alleging that she was threatened by Kindelpitiya at gunpoint.
