CID to investigate suspected sabotage of Vavuniya night mail - SLR

The CID has been called to investigate the derailment of the Vavuniya night mail train at approximately 2.30am this morning, General Manager Sri Lanka Railways P.P. Wijesekara told Ada Derana. He added that sabotage was suspected after it was discovered that a railway track had been removed prior to the incident.

 

 

The Vavuniya night mail derailed between Galgamuwa – Senarathgama early today morning. The engine and two compartments including the mail compartment was derailed as a result. No injuries were reported.
