AUDIO: 20% voter turnout, major law violations - CMEV

Approximately 20% voter turnout so far has been recorded islandwide, CMEV told Ada Derana. CMEV National Coordinator D.M. Dissanayaka said that there were major election law violations reported from some part of the island.

 

 

Dissanayaka added that 160 election violence related incidents were reported so far with 33 of them termed serious. He added that more violence related incidents have been reported in comparison to the recently concluded Presidential Election. He said that several shooting have also been reported.
