VIDEO: Polls at several Nawalapititya centres annulled

The Elections Commissioner has decided to annul the polling at several centres at Nawalapitiya in the Kandydistrict, says Elections Secretariat sources.

The sources told Adaderana that further particulars regarding the number of votes polled at each centre and whether re-polling is to be carried out will be notified later this morning.

Meanwhile, polling has also been annulled of a polling centre in the Trincomalee district, the sources added.

There were several accusations of elections malpractices in the Nawalapitiya electorate during polling yesterday. Several political parties had also complained to the Elections Commissioner about these alleged abuses.
