2021 A/L and Grade 5 Scholarship exams rescheduled again?

G.C.E. Advanced Level and Grade 5 Scholarship examinations for the year 2021 will have to be rescheduled once again, State Minister of Education Reforms Susil Premajayantha said, addressing the Parliament today (October 07).

The government will be compelled to take such decision due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation and the teacher-principal trade union action, he pointed out.

Speaking of the prolonged closure of schools promoted by the outbreak of the pandemic, the state minister said candidates should be given more time to prepare for the exams properly and for the syllabus to be covered.

The final decision on the matter will be announced following discussions with relevant authorities, he added.

In July, the Ministry of Education announced that the Grade 05 Scholarship exam will be held on November 14, 2021. Meanwhile, the Advanced Level exam is scheduled to be held between November 15 and December 10.

The dates of the Advanced Level and the Grade 05 Scholarship examinations for the year 2021, which were initially set to be held in August, were pushed back several times due to the pandemic situation.
