ASPI passes 4,000 for the first time in history

Colombo Stock Exchange’s All Share Price Index(ASPI) passed the 4,000 mark this morning for the first time in its history. Buying in shares of blue chip and mid cap companies drove the indices higher with turnover close to the Rs 500 million mark.

 

 

Investors were bullish on the strong performance shown by the government at the local elections which will bring much needed stability and a smaller and efficient government.
