Notorious underworld figure Janith Madushanka, who was operating under the alias ‘Podi Lassie’, has been remanded until December 21.

The case was taken up before Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court earlier today.

‘Podi Lassie’ was held by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under detention orders.

He was named as the second suspect in the case filed over the death threats made in public at the Boossa Prison, against the President, the Defence Secretary and certain high-ranking officers of the Prisons Department.

‘Podi Lassie’ was under remand custody at the high-security prison in Boossa over several criminal offences and was granted bail by the Galle Magistrate in October, however he had continued to be held by the CID under detention orders.
