Sirisena Amarasekera takes over as Premier’s secretary

Former Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Sirisena Amarasekera has been appointed as secretary to the Prime Minister. This appointment has been made today by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Prime Minister’s office told Adaderana a short while ago.

 

He is to assume office on Monday April 26, replacing Mahinda Bandusena who was secretary to former Premier Ratnasiri Wickremanayake.

 

 

A senior official in the Administrative Services, he has served as secretary to several ministries earlier, among them being Plan Implementation, Highways, irrigation Ports and Fisheries etc.

 

 

He is a past pupil of Middeniya Maha Vidyalaya and a graduate from the Peradeniya University.
