Vikum Kaluarachchi sworn in as Appeals Court judge

Mr. Vikum Athula Kaluarachchi has been appointed as a judge of the Court of Appeal, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.

He was sworn in before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (December 24).

The new appointment came after the retirement of Appeals Court Judge Devika Abeyratne.

Kaluarachchi is an alumnus of Royal College in Colombo and the Faculty of Law at the University of Colombo.

In his 33-year service period, Kaluarachchi has served as a Magistrate, a District Judge, a Judge of the Criminal High Court and the High Court of Civil Appeals for 27 years.
