Jaffna inmate fast called off

The fast that 16 inmates of the Jaffnaprison started on April 21 has been called off, Prisons Commissioner and Media Spokesman Keneth Fernando told Ada Derana. He added that the concerns of the inmates will be forwarded through the Prisons Commissioner General to the relevant authorities.

 

 

The inmates had expressed fears that they suspect that their trials would be transferred to other courts, Fernando added.

 

 

He said that however when Prisons Officials pledged that their demands would be forwarded to the relevant authorities the inmates had called off the fast.
