Wariyapola PS Chairman removed from post

The Chairman of the Wariyapola Pradeshiya Sabha D.M. Thilakaratne Bandara has been removed from his position by the Governor of the North-Western Province. 

The dismissal was announced in a gazette notification dated December 31, 2021, published by the Governor, Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda yesterday.

In a previous gazette notification published in June 2021, retired High Court Judge R.M.P.S.K. Rathnayake had been appointed to look into the charges laid against Thilakaratne Bandara.

Accordingly, he was stripped of his position after inquiries found him guilty of allegations.

The Wariyapola PS chairman’s removal is effective from January 01, 2022.
