A tense situation is reported at the Health Ministry after dengue prevention assistants forcibly entered the premises during a protest, says Ada Derana correspondent.

They had staged a protest near the Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo and marched towards the Health Ministry.

After forcing their way into the ministry premises, the dengue prevention assistants were seen sitting on the ground protesting.

The anti-riot squad of the police has also been called to the scene.

Reportedly, the demonstration is based on several demands including salary increases and permanent employment.

Meanwhile, vehicular movement on the road in front of the Health Ministry near Town Hall was also blocked by the protest march.
