Education will be converted to a main foreign exchange earner for the country, said Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake addressing graduates at Udunuwara Gelioya Madya Maha Vidyalaya.

Kandy district parliamentarian and an earlier Sports Minister, Mr. Dissanayake said that eight universities affiliated to international universities will be set up soon and they will be made into foreign exchange earners.

Mr. Dissanayake said that the curriculum in the quality of the country’s universities should be changed to suite the modern needs. This would attract students from countries like India,China and Pakistan to seek education opportunities in Sri Lanka.

If adequate commitment and dedication is exerted into this project the challenge can easily be met, said Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake.
