March 4, 2022   11:51 am

Minister of Water Supply Vasudeva Nanayakkara says he would refrain from performing his duties as a Cabinet minister until justice is served for Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila who were removed from their portfolios.

The lawmaker stated this addressing a media briefing convened by the government-allied political parties earlier today (March 04).

When asked if he is stepping down from his ministerial portfolio, Nanayakkara said he is withdrawing from performing his duties.

He also condemned the government’s move to strip Gammanpila and Weerawansa from their posts as Energy Minister and Industries Minister.
