Matara PS chairman arrested over arson incident

The Chairman of the Matara Pradeshiya Sabha, Wimal Priyajanaka, and two others have been arrested by police.
The suspects, including two relatives of the PS chairman, have been arrested in connection with an alleged incident of arson at a residence in the Kekanadura area.
They have subsequently been released on two personal bonds of Rs. 1,000,000 each after being produced before the Matara Magistrate Court.
The Matara PS chairman and the other two suspects had been accused of setting fire to a residence in Kekanadura on the night of March 14 (Monday), over a personal dispute.
