Special import levy on dates reduced to Rs. 01

The Ministry of Finance today announced that the special import levy on dates has been reduced to Rs. 01 with effect from today (March 28).

Issuing a statement, the ministry said that the existing special import levy of Rs. 200 per kilograms of dates has been reduced by Rs. 199 to Rs. 01.

This decision has been taken as a relief measure for Muslims during the Ramadan fasting period, it said.
