Three reported missing while bathing in Ramboda Ella

Three youths who were bathing in the Ramboda Ella in Kotmale are reported missing, Ada Derana correspondent says.

A group of employees of an apparel factory in Vavuniya, who were vacationing in Nuwara-Eliya, had gone to bathe in the Ramboda Ella at around 3.30 p.m. today (April 12).

Seven youths had been bathing in the waterfall when they were swept away by strong currents.

The lifeguards who were on duty there have managed to rescue four of the distressed youths.

A rescue operation has been launched by the police lifeguards, in search of the missing individuals.

Kotmale Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
