April 22, 2022   10:46 am

Speaker of Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena today (April 22) temporarily adjourned the proceedings in the House due to a heated debate among the parliamentarians.

The heated exchange of words took place while Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa was delivering his parliamentary speech.

The MPs of the ruling party had opposed the Opposition Leader making a long speech, which was out of the agenda.

Speaker of Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena urged the Opposition Leader to conclude his speech, however, he continued without heeding the request.
