India and Indonesia have come forward to supply necessary medicinal drugs and surgical items to Sri Lanka as hospitals in the country grappled with a health crisis with hospitals running out of medicines and essential supplies.

Accordingly, an aid comprising 101 types of medicines and surgical items donated by the government of India is expected to reach Sri Lanka next Wednesday, Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana said.

Meanwhile, medicines worth Rs. 340 million donated by Indonesia will arrive in Sri Lanka within a week, he added.
