Moratuwa Mayor’s residence set on fire

A group of individuals has set fire to the residence of Moratuwa Mayor Saman Lal Fernando, located in the area of Willorawatte.

According to Ada Derana correspondent, the situation has been brought under control.

Fernando was targetted by the public after he brought busloads of SLPP supporters to the Temple Trees as a show of support for the prime minister.

He was among the SLPP activists who led the pro-government mobs from the Temple Trees to the GotaGoGama protest site at Galle Face Green which for a brutal attack on the peaceful protesters, which led to tensions all across the island.
