June 11, 2022   02:57 pm

The Department of immigration and Emigration says its head office in Colombo and other regional offices will provide services as per usual on Monday (June 13), although the day was declared a special government holiday.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government declared June 13 as a special government holiday.

The decision was taken in view of the Poson Poya falling on the 14th of June (Tuesday).

A circular issued by the ministry in this regard read that this special government holiday should not be a hindrance to the provision of essential public services.
