Final fuel shipment under Indian credit line arrives at Colombo Port

The final shipment of 40,000 metric tonnes of diesel under the current Indian credit line has arrived at the Colombo Port today (16).

This is the final shipment of fuel to be supplied to Sri Lanka under the existing line of credit extended by India for the purchase of petroleum products.

With the limited supply of fuel to filling stations, long queues are still seen near filling stations island-wide.

Meanwhile, commuters who are using public transport were seen waiting on the roads in many urban areas without buses.

Also, a number of buses were seen parked at the Colombo private bus stand this morning due to lack of fuel.
