Sri Lanka to amend minimum age for women leaving for foreign housemaid jobs

The government has decided to amend the minimum age limit for Sri Lankan women leaving foreign employment as housemaids.

Accordingly, the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers has been granted to amend the minimum age limit to 21 years of age, the Department of Government Information said in a press release.

However, the minimum age limit for Saudi Arab has been set at 25 years, and 23 years for the other countries in the Middle East.
